Hugo holds a USSF National "B" License and has extensive coaching and professional experience. As a pro, he played as a midfielder with the Seattle Sounders, Portland Timbers and San Diego Flash.
Hugo spent two years playing at Fresno State and two years playing at Santa Barbara City College before beginning his professional career with the San Diego Flash in 2001. When he moved to the Timbers in 2004, he led the team in assists each of the 5 seasons and USL Div 1 in assists during the 2004 and 2005 seasons. Hugo holds the title of "All-Time Leader in Assists" for the Portland Timbers - the Cascadia Champions 2004/Commissioner's Cup Champions 2004.
When he joined the Sounders in 2007 - the USL Div Champions 2007/Cascadia Champions 2007/Commissioner's Cup Champions 2007 - he led the team in assists both seasons he played with them. They were US Open Cup Semifinalists both seasons.
Hugo is currently the FC Alliance Youth Director as well as a coach with the Seattle Sounders FC Youth Academy. He has also coached the Greater Renton FC U17 Boys, Willamette United FC (Oregon) U13 Boys, Portland Timbers Soccer Camps and Academy Director with FC Santos Youth Academy Boys.
