  • 15 Day Elite Academy Residential Goalkeeper
    June 16, 2019 - June 30, 2019
    12:00 pm - 4:30 pm

one. 15 Day Elite Academy Residential Goalkeeper is the most intensive 15 day training program offered in the USA attracting high level youth soccer players from across the USA, South America and Europe.

The curriculum has been specifically designed to support individual player development while always respecting the importance of TEAM.  The coaches are hand selected to offer a blend of expertise in all concepts of the game. Players will be challenged to reach inside themselves and become more than they thought they could be!  The resident philosophy embraces the importance of work ethic, desire, teamwork, respect and self-belief.  Not only will the player train more than they have ever trained in such a short period of time on the field, they will also be challenged in the classroom.

On the field goalkeepers are challenged to refine all aspects of the game: Technical, Tactical, Physical and Psychosocial.  The technical emphasis will focus on shot stopping, diving, dealing with crosses, recovery saves, distribution techniques, 1v1 scenarios, footwork and positioning in a competitive environment.  The tactical focus will cover counter attacks, clear and correct ways to organize and communicate, identifying support and ways to penetrate forward through distribution, decision making in and out of possession and overall game management.  We also understand the importance of competition and developing a competitive mentality.  Each goalkeeper will work on GK specific SAQ to assist in the individual’s agility, balance, coordination, physical power, reaction speed, leaping ability, and overall ability to recover.  The psychosocial aspects of the goalkeeper will cover dealing with pressure, self-teaching, ability to rebound from mistakes, how to develop relationships with back rows, leadership skills and discovering ways to handle emotional balance during matches.  “Train like we play and play like we train”.

In the classroom players will learn the importance of whole food nutrition and how it supports health and longevity as well as sports performance.  In addition to nutrition we also place a high level of importance on teaching good character traits.

Throughout the week, players will also be introduced to Yoga as we believe that practicing Yoga long-term can play a KEY role in a players athletic performance, recovery and injury prevention.  Following yoga, we provide either a motivational speaker, highlight videos or a visualization session and then wrap up with a 30-45 minute down time period where our athletes can socialize and relax.  Lights out for our younger players is 9:45-10:00pm while older players is 10:30pm.  Sleep is the key for recovery and preparation for the following days success.

Note:  Cate Boarding School offers the following activities during our down time periods:  2 Swimming Pools, Pool Tables, Ping Pong and Foosball Tables.

At one. Soccer Schools our entire philosophy is to inspire players to leave us with improved ability and confidence on the field and MORE importantly better young men and women off the field!
